Who we are

Boxing Medicals (boxingmedicals.co.uk) arranges England Boxing BCR1 medicals, club medicals and ringside doctor cover with independent clinics and doctors. We are run by Zakariya Khan, a sole trader based in England. For this policy, we are the "controller" of your personal information.

What we collect

When you book a medical: the boxer's full name and date of birth, a mobile number and email address, the clinic and time you chose, how far you're willing to travel and your postcode, how you want to pay, and confirmation that the boxer's England Boxing membership is done on The Locker.

When a club or promoter contacts us: the club or promotion name, your name, your town or postcode, how many boxers need medicals, show dates, venues and times, and anything else you choose to tell us.

When you pay: the name on the payment, the amount, the date and your payment reference. We never see or store full card details.

Messages: anything you send us on WhatsApp, by phone or by email.

We do not collect medical information. Please don't send us details about your health. Your medical history and results are handled by the clinic and doctor, and the doctor records your BCR1 result on England Boxing's system.

How we use it

To check availability, book your appointment with the clinic and confirm it with you. We do this to carry out the booking you asked for.
To take payment, pay the clinic and keep financial records. Some records are a legal requirement.
To reply to club and promoter enquiries and arrange the doctors and dates you ask for.
To remind you when a BCR1 is due for renewal, if you've booked with us before. This is in our legitimate interest and yours, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

We never sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

The clinic or doctor carrying out the medical or ringside cover. They need the boxer's details to book and see them, and they become responsible for any medical information they collect.
WhatsApp (Meta). Booking requests are sent to us through WhatsApp.
Our bank or payment provider, to process payments and refunds.
Website services: our web host, Google Fonts (which loads the site's typefaces) and postcodes.io (which turns the postcode or town you type into a location so we can show distances). These services may see your IP address or the postcode you enter.
Authorities such as HMRC, only where the law requires it.

Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

Junior boxers

If the boxer is under 18, a parent or guardian should make the booking and give their own mobile number and email. We only use the junior's name and date of birth to book the medical.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records: 6 years, to meet tax and accounting rules.
Enquiries that don't lead to a booking: up to 12 months.
Renewal reminder details: until you ask us to stop, or 2 years after your last booking.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies or advertising trackers. If we add visitor statistics in future, we'll update this policy first.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

give you a copy of the information we hold about you
correct anything that's wrong
delete your information, where we don't have to keep it
stop or limit how we use it, including renewal reminders
send your information to you or another organisation

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first.
