How far ahead should we book fight night cover?

As early as you can, ideally as soon as your show is sanctioned. Registered ringside doctors are in demand on weekends, so popular dates fill up first.

What does the ringside doctor do on the night?

They check boxers before they box, stay at ringside for every bout, and do the post-bout medicals afterwards, following England Boxing's rules for shows.

Do my boxers need England Boxing membership first?

Yes. Each boxer needs membership and age verification done on The Locker before a doctor can record their medical. It's £15 a year. Go to The Locker

Who pays, the club or each boxer?

Either. For squad medicals the club can pay once for the whole group, or each boxer can pay for their own. Fight night cover is paid by the club or promoter.

Can you do new medicals and renewals together?

Yes. Tell us how many of each, as some doctors price them differently.

What if a boxer doesn't pass?

The doctor will explain why and what to do next, usually seeing their own GP for a further check. We'll help rebook once they're cleared.
